Marcela Ambrožová graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in 1978. By 1993, she was working at the Institute for Social Medicine and the Health Care Organization. In 1993, after dissolution of the Institute, she worked briefly (2 months) for an opinion poll agency (AISA) and in 1993, she started working for VZP ČR in the position of Mathematics Analysis Department manager. For many years, she has worked with the mechanisms of health care payments and their effect on the health care provider’s behaviour. From 2004, she managed the Bed Health Care Payments Department and since April 2004, she has been the Health Care Division Director.

Marcela Ambrožová is married; her husband works as a proxy in a small foreign company. They have one daughter, studying at university now. She likes hiking and biking.
